Yoga is more than a form of movement—it’s a practice of connection. Rooted in ancient tradition, yoga unites the mind, body, and spirit through intentional breath, mindful movement, and inner awareness. The word “yoga” itself means “to yoke” or “to unite,” reminding us that we are whole beings capable of deep harmony when we take the time to pause, breathe, and be present.
At Take Root Studio, we honor yoga as both a physical and spiritual practice. Each class is designed to help you slow down, reconnect with yourself, and cultivate strength and flexibility—inside and out. Whether you’re stepping onto the mat for the first time or deepening a lifelong practice, our classes offer a safe and nurturing space to explore and grow.
Our yoga classes are open to all levels, all bodies, and all backgrounds. We believe yoga is for everyone—whether you’re seeking relief from stress, improved mobility, or simply a quiet moment of reflection.
You don’t need to be flexible, strong, or experienced to begin. All that’s required is a willingness to breathe and be present. Our instructors meet each participant where they are, offering modifications and mindful guidance so that everyone feels supported throughout the practice.
Take Root Studio offers a variety of yoga experiences to meet your unique needs and intentions:

Canaan is a passionate yoga instructor with over a decade of experience guiding others on their wellness journey. For Canaan, yoga is more than just movement—it’s a way to reconnect with the body, quiet the mind, and find harmony in everyday life. Her approach blends mindful breathwork, strength-building flows, and deep relaxation, creating a practice that is both grounding and transformative.
Inspired by nature, Canaan encourages her students to embrace balance and presence, both on and off the mat. When she’s not teaching, you’ll find her outdoors—camping with her family, floating down the Ocoee River, and finding serenity in the beauty of the natural world.
"It is my goal to bring yoga to you! I hope to make yoga accessible to anyone! I primarily teach gentle styles of yoga (yin, vinyasa, restorative), which are all great for finding a sense of calm and relaxation, while introducing more movement to the body."
